We’re back from National Western Stock Show. It’s always great to visit with our yak friends. The owners put on their annual yak masquerade parade and participated in the yak obstacle course. Our yaks did extremely well in the competitions.
HSY Dobson was the Grand Champion Fiber Yak and the Show’s High Point Champion.
In the halter show, yaks bred by us won six blue ribbons, a blue in each class in which we showed. HSY Finn, now owned by Corinna and Pat Schade, was the blue ribbon Spring Bull Calf and Grand Champion Bull. HSY Bruno was the blue ribbon Summer Bull Calf. HSY Alistair was the blue ribbon Spring Yearling Bull and Reserve Grand Champion Bull. HSY Freden was the blue ribbon Adult Female and Grand Champion Female. HSY Miranda was the blue ribbon Spring Yearling Heifer. The Duchess, now owned by Melissa Lunsford at Granite Peaks Ranch, was the blue ribbon Spring Heifer Calf.
