Meet the Ladies
Technically only the males of the species are called yaks. Females of the species are dri or nak. In North America we’ve adopted the convention of the cattlemen, and we refer to yak bulls and yak cows. At Hay Springs Yaks we have a varied herd of yak cows. Below you’ll see many of the ladies. Some have the English Sheepdog look, while others look like the wild yaks of Tibet.
