2020 National Western Stock Show

This is HSY Moses 18C75, the High Point Champion at Rocky Mountain Yakspo. Moses came home with two blue ribbons, a Reserve Grand Champion Bull ribbon, and a ribbon in the on-the-yak fiber competition. The High Point Champion Award goes to the yak earning a ribbon in all three shows (pen, halter, fiber) with the highest combined score. Moses is a yearling and is expected to be ready for his first tour of duty this fall. Moses is for sale.

And in fiber…. Our heifer calf HSY Moxie Roxie won the blue ribbon in her class and the Grand Champion Award for Fiber. Our bull calf HSY Sir Duncan took second place to Moxie Roxie in the calf category, but still earned the Reserve Grand Champion Award. Our yearling heifer HSY Sugar won the first place blue ribbon in the older yak category, but was beat out by Sir Duncan for the Reserve Grand Champion Award. There were more than 50 yaks entered into the fiber contest. Hay Springs Yaks came back with six of the ten place ribbons, the Reserve Grand Ribbon, and the Grand Champion ribbon.. The last time that we entered yaks into a fiber contest was at IYAK’s 2017 national show at NWSS. That year we came home with four of the top six ribbons.

There are some great fiber genetics going on at Hay Springs Yaks.
